Presentation of the Association

The Association Pierre de Bourgogne was created in 1996.

Its objectives are to promote, communicate and advise about Burgundy limestone, its work skills and its uses. 

It brings together around thirty companies representing all the different activities of the stone sector: quarries, fabricators, stone masons, sculptors and roof tilers. 

The Association undertakes collective actions on behalf of the whole sector : Participating in trade shows, exhibitions, managing the Geographic Indication, creating videos, training, etc… 

It employs a General Manager, Tiphaine Paquette 

The Regional Council of Bourgogne-Franche-Comté partially funds the Association since its creation.

The Association is housed in the offices of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry Bourgogne-Franche-Comté. 

It has long been supported by the DIRECCTE Bourgogne-Franche-Comté, the FEDER and the CCI Côte d'Or. 

History and important dates since 1996

1996

Creation of an Association to Promote Burgundy Limestone consisting of 15 members, in partnership with the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Dijon, the DRIRE of Burgundy and the Regional Council of Burgundy.

1999

1st participation in the international exhibition of stone and the stone industries, MARMOMACC in Italy.

In 2000,  the Association receives the title "Master of Stone 2000" for associations.                                                                          This distinction is awarded by the Italian  "Corporation of Stone Arts". 

2007

Signature of the 1st Interprofessional Contract of Progress for the stone sector of ornamental rock in Burgundy, with the Burgundy region and the State.

1st participation in Big 5 exhibition in Dubai, United Arab Emirates.

2009

Registration of the Trade mark "Pierre de Bourgogne" 

2011

Signature of CAPéCO (Contract for Support for the Economic Performance and for the Evolution of Competences) for the stone sector of ornamental rock in Burgundy, with the Burgundy region and the State.

2013

Production of a film on Burgundy Limestone (La Pierre de Bourgogne fait son cinéma - YouTube).

 

2013

22 April 2013 : participation in a public concertation in the Albert Borschette (CCAB) conference centre in Brussels, for the protection of Protected Geographical Indications for non-agricultural and non-food products.

Participation in the Cité 21 trade fair in Dijon - Renewed participation in 2014

2015

Participation in the Marmomacc exhibition in Verona. - Renewed participation in 2016

2017

First participation in the Rocalia trade fair in Lyon 

2018

Registration of the Geographical Indication « Pierre de Bourgogne ». 

2019

2nd participation in the Rocalia trade fair in Lyon. Renewed participation in 2021 and 2023.

The Association is managed by an Administrative Council elected for 3 years.   It currently consists of 10 members.

The Administrative Council appoints yearly the executive of the association, which manages the day to day affairs. 

At the General Assembly of the 13 June 2025, a new Administrative Council was elected for 3 years.
